PRIVACY STATEMENT
I am registered with the ICO (information Commissioners Office) which means that I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it.
What data do I keep and why do I need it?
Name and age – this is basic information that helps me get to know you
Address, email address and phone number – I use this as a way of contacting you regarding your sessions. I will mainly use the method you first contact me on but, if I cannot reach you, I will try a different method.
Doctor’s details – if I was concerned that you were at risk then I may need to contact your doctor. I would always do so with your consent where possible.
Session notes – I keep brief notes of each session. These are hand-written and stored in a locked filing cabinet.
Will I share your data and if I do, who will I share it with and for what purpose?
It is very unlikely that I will share your data. I will not sell it on or use it for unethical reasons. I may have to share data if my notes are subpoenaed by court, of if you or anyone you tell me about, is at harm or risk of harm, I may have pass this information on. I also have regular supervision where I talk about my work with you but I will only use your first name.
How will I store your data?
It depends on the data. It is mainly stored on paper in a locked filing cabinet. Your phone number and email address my be stored in my password-protected computer or on my mobile phone, using initials for your name and surname. Only I will access your information.
How long will I store your data for and how long will I dispose of it?
I will keep your session notes, your name and this contract for seven years (as per my insurance requirements).
I will delete your email and phone number from my mobile phone and computer three months after our work has finished.

Prior to working with me you will be asked to confirm whether you consent to me using your data in this way.
